Artist statement

An artist, in her own words.

Growing up in Ahmedabad, India, I was deeply influenced by India’s rich social heritage, culture, spirituality, and the emotions expressed by the people around me. I have always been inspired by colors, rhythms, and different aspects of everyday life, and this sensitivity continues in my artistic journey today.

From early childhood, art became my natural language. Throughout my academic years, I explored different mediums and forms, eventually graduating from C. N. Fine Arts College, where my foundation in traditional and contemporary techniques strengthened my visual voice. My father was my first inspiration; his encouragement guided me toward public expression of my work through social functions, cultural programs, and community events. This journey has continued across borders, allowing me to share my art both in India and now in the United States.

My work often reflects emotion, identity, and abstraction expressed through mandala forms, dual-colored faces, and compositions that explore the many layers within a single culture. I use color as a narrative tool, revealing contrasts, harmonies, and the unseen spaces between experiences. Each piece becomes a reflection of my inner world and the diverse society that inspires me.

As an artist, I remain committed to exploring how tradition, spirituality, and human emotion intersect, creating work that resonates with viewers across cultures and generations.
